Crusader for Children Needs Your Help

 

On June 14, a group led by Kailash Satyarthi, a long-time crusader against child labor, led a raid on The Great Roman Circus in Colonelganj, India, after a tip that the circus was exploiting hundreds of children.

 

We have received a report that a local magistrate alerted the circus, and when Satyarthi and his team arrived, the circus owner and a gang attacked them with iron rods, knives, and guns. Kailash and other injured team members were taken to Lucknow for medical treatment, where they are in stable condition.

 

Kailash Satyarthi is the founder of Rugmark, which has liberated hundreds of child laborers being exploited in the rug industry in India, Pakistan, and elsewhere, and of Global March Against Child Labor.
